Brian E. Steward, President
Brian began his construction career in 1993 as the founder and president of Reston Ice Forum, LLC, a sports and recreation facilities development firm. After four years of explosive growth, his company was purchased by Trizec Corporation in 1996, and he joined the senior management team as they began a national rollout of high-end sports complexes. In 2002, Brian founded Brownstone Properties, a Baltimore-based multifamily property development firm, where he purchased, renovated, and managed 37 properties. He relocated to Richmond, Virginia in 2005 to co-found Century Mechanical Contracting, LLC, and later Iron Horse Mechanical, Inc. Brian graduated with a BS degree from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale in 1982.
Robert W. Roper, Director, Mechanical Design
For the past 38 years, Robert has worked as an independent mechanical contractor, project manager, estimator, and municipal building inspector. He has designed HVAC, gas piping, and control systems solutions for single and multifamily dwellings, banks, schools, retail stores, churches, retirement homes, office buildings, restaurants, and industrial buildings. Well-known and highly respected by his industry peers, Robert has held a Journeyman and Master License from the Virginia Department of Professional & Occupational Regulations since 1982.
James Whinnie, Director, Project Management
Jim has more than 25 years’ experience in the HVAC/R field directing the installation, diagnostics and repair of commercial equipment. Prior to moving to North Carolina, Jim founded and operated a successful HVAC company in the Detroit metro area for seven years. Jim currently manages projects large and small from South Carolina to Maryland. Jim is known for his calm demeanor and is very well liked by our customers. Jim holds trade licenses in multiple states.
